The 2017-18 FTC Season's theme was Relic Recovery. That year's robot was the Daylanator which focused on the acquisition of glyphs during driver operated and autonomous phases. With the simple yet effective intake design they could average 6 glyphs into the cryptobox per match. The intake was an arm that was able to rotate 160 degrees and would be able to deposit the glyphs into the cryptobox to save time. Due to the unique design, the Daylanator earned the Design Award at the Lewisville Qualifier.
